Rarely do games seem to shy away from action or killing "enemies", but I Am Alive does so in various ways. This game puts you into a post apocalyptic world, one which you learn a little about through the game but never learn the whole truth of, merely a perspective from the main character. You have to survive in this harsh and desolate world, if not for yourself then for your daughter. Ammo and weapons are scarce, other survivors are rare and everyone is out for themselves. In the game you will be able to stealthy slit the throat of enemies, gun down people or engage in melee combat, but it is designed in a way that gives you the choice, unlike many other games. You can choose to intimidate enemies, fight them or flat out avoid them all together. Check out some of the ways you can deal with other survivors in this new video.
The game is going to be single player offline only and will be coming out on XBLA, PSN and PC. The XBLA version will be coming out first with the PSN version following shortly after, while the PC version is a massive question mark. The game is going to be a single story that will take you through linear levels. You will be going through construction sites, underground subway tunnels, hotels and many other areas as part of a large city called Haventon. There will also be mini-scenarios and side areas that are created in an attempt to make each play-through feel different. The game looks plenty interesting but I have a lot of concerns about it, like how is the platforming going to be balanced with action and how are they going to manage to do that well with several other gameplay focuses. I also am worried about the game since it has been in development for five years, originally being a full size $60 game and then being changed into a downloadable game. We will see how it turns out at the beginning of February, for now check out the links below for several videos and screenshots, plus general information. Thanks for reading and if you aren't supporting the SOPA blackout then get the hell off the internet.
